A disc bulge is a condition where the soft inner portion of the disc bulges out beyond the outer edge of the vertebrae. Bulging discs are usually due to age-related degeneration, and symptoms tend to progress gradually. Symptoms can differ depending on the location and severity of the bulge, however it is possible to experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A bulging disc can possibly press onto the spinal cord and create tension on the nerves, possibly creating symptoms travelling into the arms or legs. This extra tension on the spinal cord and nerves can cause the vertebrae to move forward; this is the body making compensations to reduce the extra tension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
